The 3D polygon engine

The Mascot Capsule(R) Engine/Micro3D Edition consists of revolutionary software making it small enough to be loaded into a mobile phone without the need for special hardware. The engine features a "view" option, which allows users to rotate polygon-rendered characters through 360 degrees at the touch of a button. It is also possible to enlarge or reduce images and apply light source vectorization, creating glossy surfaces and delicate nuances in shading and providing an unparalleled degree of realism in 3D rendering.

The Flash technology for mobile phones

The Flash technology for mobile phones "Macromedia Flash Lite" was developed based on the Macromedia Flash Player. This brings the features of Macromedia Flash Player, which is installed on over 98% of the PCs worldwide, to the mobile phone platform. This technology enables richer and more expressive interactive content to be displayed on mobile devices.

As well as enabling content with smoother and more vibrant animation compared to the animated gifs available up until now, information that had previously required several files (pages) to display can be brought together into a single file (page).

Introducing our Image Recognition and Search Service

Our image recognition and search service using mobile phone cameras, "Search by Camera! ER Search" (カメラでケンサク!ERサーチ) , is based on the image recognition technology “ViPRTM”, which was developed as robot element technology by the North American company, Evolution Robotics Inc., and integrated into mobile phones by Bandai Networks. After starting up the application, which is loaded onto the mobile phone terminal, and photographing various media with the camera, data is transmitted to a server. The service allows information about products and other objects to be searched easily.

Without requiring special images, such as 2D code, which have been necessary to date, this service can be used for all objects, including mail-order catalogs, magazines, CD jackets, television commercials, product packaging, and outdoor advertisements.

ER Search

* "カメラでケンサク!ERサーチ" is a register trademark of Bandai Networks Co., Ltd. and D2 Communications Inc. in japan.

* "ViPRTM" (visual pattern recognition) technology was developed as robot element technology by the North American company, Evolution Robotics Inc. Distinctive features of images and the corresponding actions are registered on a database server. Then simply by taking a photograph of an object, the distinctive features of the image are extracted and sent to the server where they are compared with the registered image information and the appropriate action is sent back. The recognition is based on “fuzzy” technology, so even objects that are inverted or at an angle, or just part of the whole object (up to a certain point) can be recognized.
